Obtaining professional teen acting, singing, and modeling jobs involves going through teen casting. Casting directors are hired by producers to find performers for various projects. The casting director then holds auditions to find the right person for each role of the production. Casting directors receive teen submissions from agents, managers and teen actors. A casting call is a short form of an audition. A headshot is submitted, and the casting director reviews the material and then calls the actor or model.
The actor or model then becomes one among a pre-qualified group under consideration for the job. Submissions are kept on file for possible future consideration. Managers or agents are hired to get casting calls for actors, but you don't have to be represented by an agent to find jobs.
